Shari Landry joined Culpeper Wellness Foundation (CWF) as the organization’s first President in August 2016. Prior to moving to Culpeper for this position, she was the Vice President of Philanthropy and Donor Services at New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, a statewide community foundation. Shari’s career has included leadership roles at several of NH’s largest nonprofit organizations where she focused on program development, management and charitable gift planning. Shari holds a BA in Social Work from the University of New Hampshire and a MS in Human Services Administration from Springfield College. She also earned the designation of Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy with the American College and a Fellowship in Charitable Estate Planning with the Charitable Estate Planning Institute. Shari and her husband came to Virginia with their horses, Scottish Highland cattle, goats, chickens, dogs and cats. They are happily settled into a beautiful farm along the Rapidan River in Orange County.
Eric focuses on management and oversight of the Foundation’s facilities, which include Powell Wellness Center (PWC), PATH Recreation & Fitness Center (PRFC), the Free Clinic of Culpeper (FC), Piedmont Regional Dental Clinic (PRDC) as well as multiple rental properties. Prior to assuming this position in 2024, Eric was director of Powell Wellness Center and played an instrumental role in the development of PRFC, which opened in 2022. He joined PWC as director in 2012. Eric holds a bachelor of science degree in health and fitness from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA, and an associate degree in science (physical therapy assistant program) from Jefferson College of Health Sciences in Roanoke, VA. Prior to joining PWC, Eric was Director at the Augusta Health Lifetime Fitness Center in Fishersville, VA, where he led the launch of a hospital-based medical fitness wellness center; spearheaded a construction and expansion project; and developed integrated services and wellness programs. Eric is passionate about health and wellness and enjoys any opportunity to help people achieve a greater fitness and a healthy lifestyle.
Nicole Spears’ journey with CWF began in 2010 at Powell Wellness Center (PWC), then under Culpeper Regional Hospital. When the hospital changed hands and CWF was formed in October 2014, she continued her career as assistant to the Director of PWC, which had transitioned to affiliate with CWF. From there, she stepped into the role of Executive Assistant to the Foundation’s President. Prior to raising her children, Nicole worked at U.S. Customs and Border Patrol and Robbins-Gioia. Nicole holds a BA in Business Management from the School of Business at George Mason University. Nicole and her husband moved to Culpeper in 2005 from Northern Virginia. They have three children involved in various community activities and enjoy spending on their property, Emberwoods.
Karen Boushie joined CWF in 2018 to serve as the communications and social media specialist. She and her husband moved to Culpeper in 2017 from Vermont, where Karen was the public relations director supporting media relations, communications and social media for an award-winning family vacation resort. She also has communications experience as a freelance writer and with the federal government. A graduate of Allegheny College in Pennsylvania, Karen later pursued professional certification in editing, writing and graphic design at Georgetown University. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking, biking and participating in fitness classes offered by the CWF fitness centers.
Holly Durrer joined CWF in May 2023 as the Accounts Payable & Receivable Specialist and became Office Manager in early 2024. Holly previously worked in local government for sixteen years specializing in Payroll and Accounts Payable. She is a proud native of Culpeper County and is excited to join an organization improving the health and wellness of the community. Holly resides in Culpeper with her husband and two wonderful daughters. Holly’s hobbies include reading, traveling, hiking and spending time with her family and pets.
Stephanie Hiatt started her as the Accounts Payable & Receivable Specialist January of 2024. Stephanie was previously a Member Support Specialist for PATH Recreation and Fitness. She was an athlete, who played softball and volleyball and is excited to join an organization improving the health and wellness of the community. Stephanie resides in Culpeper with her husband and two wonderful daughters. Her hobbies include reading, being outside, cheering on her girls, and spending time with her family and friends.
