Eric Good, director of Powell Wellness Center (PWC) since 2012, has been elected to a two-year term on the Medical Fitness Association’s (MFA) Board of Directors. His term will begin in January 2021. Powell Wellness Center is managed by the Culpeper Wellness Foundation.

PWC is a medically integrated health and fitness center with member and community programming that seeks to support clients’ healthy lifestyles and improve outcomes for those with chronic diseases and multiple risk factors.  PWC is one of only 2 certified medical fitness facilities in Virginia. Under Good’s leadership, PWC was recognized in 2018 as the top facility of the year by the MFA, the non profit association providing developmental and operational guidance to this specialized industry.

As PWC director, Good works with the center’s Medical Advisory Committee and staff to support the wellness needs of PWC members & the broader community through fitness, health and nutrition programs. PWC welcomes community members to FitScripts, a doctor-referred 6-week program of specialized exercise to support medical conditions. Another community program is Health Matters, a monthly free informational presentation by local medical professionals on health topics of current interest (Health Matters is currently on hold during the pandemic). PWC offers medical fitness scholarships to qualified community members.

Good’s three decades of professional experience in the fitness industry include serving as director of Augusta Health Lifetime Fitness Center in Fishersville, Virginia. He has been a member of the Medical Fitness Association since 1995, with experience as secretary/treasurer of the MFA Foundation Board of Trustees and chair of the MFA Outcomes Committee. Good’s other professional affiliations include the Southeastern Hospital Health and Fitness Alliance (SEHFA) and the Southeastern Regional Medical Fitness Association (SEMFA), where he is a lifetime board member and past president.
